I installed UMS on a voicemail running XP Pro and it appears to work however all prompts are gone from mailboxes no beep no instructions any idea why

Maybe because UMS is not supported on XP only sever 2003 and 2008.

Whilst people have successfully installed UMS on XP Pro, it isn't a supported configuration (I've done it on our inhouse systems, but I will not be deploying that for customers)

To begin to find what is wrong with your voicemail system, I'd be looking to re-install the languages as a first step, by using the modify feature of the install. You maight find it worthwhile installing a different language also, say French or Spanish and changing the language for a user...

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

A good technician asks "can I". A great technician asks "should I".

And I ask "I don't know if I can, but why should I"? :)
