Hey, all.

I've been trying to install UMS for a new customer, but I've been running into some trouble. Basically, for starters, I'm trying to find some decent instructions on IIS/UMS configuration to see if there's anything I'm missing. We're installing on Server 2003 SP2. We installed IIS first, then SP2, as this caused a problem with CCC before.. installing out of order. However, anytime I try to launch any file, be it a PHP, GIF, whatever, I'm getting 404 Webpage Cannot Be Found. PHP is installed (ran the setup into C:\Program Files\PHP), and it is showing up as an allowed Web Service Extension.

I've tried browsing via the IIS interface, and I've also tried connecting to the local machine via a web browser. I've tried the root directory, as well as /voicemail and /voicemail/login.php to no avail.

Also having trouble with the IMAP connecting properly.. but I think that's going to be more problems for another day. So, any help would be appreciated, but really I'm just looking to be pointed in the right direction. The VMPro installation manual didn't have any information on the IIS/PHP configuration (that I saw, looked through most of it), and after a bit of looking around I'm coming up empty.

Thanks in advance.

It is really easy.
You do not need to install IIS on a 2003 server, that is already working when you install 2003 !
Do you browse to ipadres/voicemail ?
Imap connection is also easy to make
Only in outlook is says that the connection is idle too long but still works

Hm, I must be missing something here!

I browse to from the server, and nothing. I've tried browsing to from another machine, and still nothing (that IP address being the IP of the VM server--)

And for the IMAP, I have the IMAP account setup in Outlook, but it tells me that it can't authorize my login. I've tried both the User Name, and the Extension number for the Account User Name, and then the VM password for the Account Password. I have the user selected in the UMS license (which is showing as valid), and still no go.

I've just got to fiddle with the IMAP thing a bit more, I'm sure, however the Web Voicemail thing is making me pull my hair out at the moment. Partly frustration, part exhaustion. Thanks for the quick reply, tlpeter. It's a god-awful hour of the night at the moment where I'm at, so it's good that our friends across the water are helping out too ;-)

Thanks!

I'll go through it again.. that's the same one I was looking at off support.avaya.com -- but I'll doublecheck all my work. I'm going through some permissions stuff to see if that's what the issue is, as well.

Thanks again for the help!

Unlike in 2000, 2003 Server does not automatically install IIS! It depends on what options you choose after install, application server, file server etc as to if IIS is installed and running.

1. Check if IIS is installed.
2. Check to see if the IIS Admin Service is running.
3. Goto IIS Manager from Administrative Tools.
4. Find the Voicemail Virtual directory it may not be the default website. Right-click properties of the website which contains the Voicemail directory.
5. Goto Directory Security tab.
6. Select the Edit button under Authentication and Access
Control. Check that Enable Anonymous Access is cecked. If not check and restart IIS.

we had the same issue, turned out for a few reasons. looks like another Avaya product that has to be installed by reading the manual first!

Did you install IMS and Web Voicemail on the same machine? You can install only 1.

Is port 80 being used by another program?
