I have recently created new filesystem for an upgrade to oracle. Oracle is now using this filesystem and i have come to tidy old filestore up.
I try to umount /fred but it still says its 'busy'.
Nothing as far as i can see is using this filesystem.
Is there any diagnostics i can run to show what is using the filesystem or anything else to try and umount it.
I don't want to just change vfstab and re-boot server.
All this needs to be actioned online.

much appreciated.

Hello,

Try with the fuser command: fuser -u /mount_point. With this command and ps -el you can determine the process that is using that filesystem.

Take a look at the man pages for different options and an explanation of the output.

Bye,
