Whenever somebody wants to check their voicemails, they call the voicemail number, and the UM8700 answers but with a generic greeting - as if it didn't know who the caller is.
Also when you call an extension and it forwards you to voicemail, you don't get the greeting of the called person's voicemail box, you just get a generic greeting.
So looks like there is no MCI (over LAN) functionality. My knowledge only goes up to AD64.
How do I check / fix this MCI problem. I'm helping one of our remote sites on this, so I don't have direct access to (or even knowledge of) their networking. I'm told that the SV9500 and the voicemail system are on the same network, so there shouldn't be networking problem (like firewall blocking IP traffic between the pbx and the UM8700).
It used to work, but they changed something, and nobody can tell me when and what especially not in relation to when this issue started.
So I'm looking for basic troubleshooting ideas on what to look at.
