UM8000 Email integration

I am the administator/user of an SV8100 with UM8000 voice mail & I have two questions regarding email integration and ViewMail:

1. Several of our users have "empty" voice mails stuck in their Sent Items\Unopened Items folders. Every time they start Outlook, they get a popup about not being able to move or delete the messages -- one popup for each message. The messages do not have any recorded content. If I try to delete them they soon reappear in Sent Items\Unopened Items. I have tried deleting them via OWA. I've also logged into the UM8000 web interface; the messages do not appear to be in the subscriber mailboxes. The messages in question appear to have been forwarded to the users by other subscribers. Any suggestion on how to permanently delete these messages?

2. Can the UM8000 integrate with email without using the ViewMail Outlook add-on? I think it would be great if the voice mail server would simply send the voice mail messages to the user's mailbox as a .wav attachment and faxes as .tif attachments. I think I've read in the UM8000 installation manual that this is possible, but I can't get it to work.

I should have mentioned -- Outlook 2007, Windows 7 (64-bit), and Exchange 2010.
