Ultrium 460 Auto Tape Loader

Hi,

I got a new Ultrium 460 Auto Tape Loader which installed onto my windows 2000 server fine. I am running Backup Exec 8.6 which picked up the new tape drive but does not pick it up as an autoloader. I went onto the Veritas support web site and downloaded all patches and driver updates which did nothing for me.

Anyone know how to get around this?

Do you have the Library Expansion Option installed? If not, BE won't recognize a tape library nor will it install the driver for the robotic arm.

Not on the HCL for one thing and Backup Exec 8.6 will no longer be supported after the end of the month.

You can eval 9.0 for 60 days and it should work

Thanks Guys,

As Steveot said it's not on the HCL. Should have checked that myself first. On another note I emailed Veritas and they never picked up on this! I'm going to try Version 9.1 if it fixes my problem I will go with that.
