Ultrium 2 cleaning cartridge used on LTO3 ?

Folks,

Just wondering can an ultrium 2 cleaning cartridge be used on an ultrium 3 tape drive (LTO) ?

We have ultrium 3 and it's showing a cleaning LED sign and we've tried using the ultrium 2 cleaning cartridge on it but it just ejects the medium immediately and seems to have no effect.
