Hello everybody,

I have an Ultra30 with onboard hme and pci qfe interfaces.
I set up a jumpstart server to be able to perform fast and unattended reinstallations for tests.

The jumpstart server works fine with an U2, but when trying to boot the U30 using any of the interfaces, I receive the following message:

ok boot net -s
Boot device: /pci@1f,4000/network@1,1 File and args: -s
Internal loopback test -- Did not receive expected loopback packet.

If I run watch-net-all, I get the same response for all network interfaces.

OBP and DIAG are on current level, and after installing Solaris8 from CD, the interfaces work fine.
I already resetted the NVRAM to default.

Does anybody have an idea or a useful tip how to resolve this problem?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards
Ruediger

just guessing: autonegotiation fails between Sun and link partner? Can you connect the Sun with the other Sun (bootserver) with a Crosslink cable and then boot net?

Best Regards, Franz
