UK SDSL and good VPN capable routers

Hi, I'm having trouble getting a sensible setup working on an SDSL link in the UK.
Statred with a Vigor 3100 which inspite of latest firmware (2.7) will not maintaine a link for more than 24 hrs.
Changed to a Zerxcel Prestige 791R which keeps a link for weeks at a time but wont terminate VPNs, so I've set up a Vigor cable router (2910) behind it, with the 791 set to 'forward all' in it's nat table, but can only support 1 VPN at a time.
QUESTION - Is there a proven SDSL router/ VPN box for the UK?
any real world experience welcome
