We have found a number of sites with new PDQ machines on POT extn's that will not correctly connect to the clearing bank.

This problem is due to the default number in the PDQ machine not being able to connect to calls that originate from an ISDN line (your guess is as good as mine as to why this should be the case)

The solution is to have the PDQ machine reprogrammed to connect to an alternative number.
Some banks seem more helpfull about this than others, I wont name names but the worst offender is certainly NOT my favorite bank now.

I've had this problem on another system.
The PDQs were working for over a year and then just stopped connecting.
The solution was to programme a pause on the PDQ machine and this solved the problem

This has indeed been proven to the make of PDQ machine, they have all been new PDQ systems with Blutooth cordless card readers for Chip & Pin Operation.

Barclay card had the destination number reprogged to correct the problems
