I am unable to get my Cisco IP Communicator to work over a Microsoft VPN connection. WHen I am at home and using a VPN to connect I can use the IPC to dial a number and it rings however I cannot communicate wiht it. No voice is coming across. The IPC works fine when in the office.

Whenever I have seen this problem it was usually because there was no route back to the far end. Check the router for proper routes back to you.

Just had this happen this morning. User had the VPN mac instead of his network mac. he also did not have the tftp server listed.

Hope this helps.

we are having similar problems. Remote users can talk to hard phones in the office but can't talk to other remote users. The IPC rings but there is no audio. BT are claiming this is a cisco bug and they are waiting for cisco to issue a patch.

When I was born I was so suprised I didn't talk for 18 months

jeter is correct. Your gateway must have a route back to you. If the MAC/TFTP settings were incorrect then the phone wouldn't even register.
