In playing around with a test system, I changed the UID of "root" to 2000.

How can I change it back to 0?

Thanks

boot from cd in single user mode and edit the /etc/passwd file?

Ray

Even a bad day at the races is better than a good day at the office.

sudo configured/enabled? Is there another user with uid=0? If not Ray already posted the solution.

Best Regards, Franz
