I am almost ashamed enough not to post this help-message, but I can no longer stand not knowing the reason behind this icons issue.
Ok, so this is the problem:
Although everything looks fine in my computer, for some reason my icons look plain ugly. They have looked this way since I installed Win2k.
To see them please visit this page:

There you will see how my icons look, and my Display Properties.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

JavierDL

The icon color settings can be different that the system color settings. Under Win98, you would right click on the desktop and bring up display properties and under one of those tabs there was a check box "display icons using all possible colors" which you would make sure is checked.

I don't see an option in WinXP, and I really haven't used Win2000 to know how that OS works, but check around.

There are two ways that might help:(1)Go to control panel>effects>check large icons>apply >ok then go back and uncheck after viewing desktop. (2)Open hidden files in explorer find ShellIconCache and delete it then restart and let windows rebuild the file.Frodo
