ufsrestore giving problem

I had backed up one full filesystem(23.2GB) on HP-DDS3 DAT(24 GB in compressed form) connected to my Sun Server E220R
using ufsdump command.When I tried to restore the filesystem
using ufsrestore command ,it gave me an error:-
xtrmap :too many map entries
and the process got aborted.
What could the problem be?Is there any way I can recover the data from the DAT?
The filesystem was inactive during backup time but was mounted on the system....

Please advice...
