UDP use in D7

I have an application that used the FastNet UDP component in Delphi 5 to transmit and receive messages between computers. When I upgraded to Delphi 7 it was gone so I tried to use the given UDPsocket component. This component transmits ok for me but I can't get one to receive. Is there a trick to it or are there known bugs?
