UDP table entry "L4"

I've got a uniform dialplan table with L4 in some of the entries - I'm pretty good with the routing, (ARS, AAR, UDP,etc) I just need a doc that details that chain of logic with this entry - just haven't run across it yet (cant find it in the admin guide)

From the Avaya CM 2.2 Admin manual (page 1624):

Lx (1 to 5) The variable x represents a number of digits taken from the locations prefix on the Locations screen.
These digits are prepended to the dialed string. The
value for x must less than the number of digits in
the location prefix. Type a number between 1 and 5
that represents the number of leading x digits that
should be prepended to (added to the front of) the
dialed string.
