I don't think it's possible, but I have site A that is going to be connected to site B through a partial PRI. Site A currently is keyed with (8) POTS lines and they would like to dial-out of site A from site B. Can I leave it keyed or will I need to pool the pots so they are in the ars table? I'm thinking I'll need to pool the system, but just wanted to see if anyone knew if it was possible to leave it keyed.

Merlin Magix R4.0 on both ends, no voicemail at either end.

It must be Hybrid/PBX mode to use UDP. But you can keep the POTS lines out of pools, and assign then as "private" lines to each extension, so they get "key" appearances, and can call site to site through the SA buttons. The ARS can use the PRI pools for outbound as well, so they can dial 9+ on the SA's for outbound.

I know it will need to be Hybrid/PBX to use UDP, But...They want to dial from site B (which will only have the pt. to pt. and one POTS for backup) through site A to go to the outside world. Site A will only have 8 POTS lines (and the pt. to pt. of course). So, to clarify, can site B dial-out on Site A's POTS lines if they are keyed or would I need to pool the POTS lines at site A for it to work?

I've only networked systems that were totally pooled, but this client is used to a keyed environment and wuold like to keep it keyed if possible.

I do know that, I think I am not explaining it clearly: Both site A and site B will run in Hybrid mode, but site A would like to have their current 8 pots lines as line appearances (so basically putting these 8 lines on all phones- not in any pool). Then, Site B would like to dial out using those 8 pots lines as well. But, since they would not be apart of a pool at site A, I didn't think it would be possible. So that is the question: can site B dial out on site A's pots lines if they are not apart of a pool)?

No. Site A will need to take away those individual line appearances and pool their lines for Site B to be able to dial out through them.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the confirmation.
