I have 2 identical Linux hosts attached to an HP MSA. I am using udev to create persistent names for an Oracle database. I have a problem where one host maps all of the devices correctly the other host maps all except one device which it ignores. The server maps the scsi device but udev will not create the persistent name. The udev rules files on both servers are identical, just to make sure I tried with the rules file from the good server on the not good server to no avail.

Has anyone any ideas how I can resolve this problem, it's driving me mad.

Thanks

Alan

No ideas to suggest off hand, but have you looked in the log files for any indication of a clue or error message?
