UDB V7/V8

I'm trying to administer both V7 32 bit and V8 64 bit databases and am having issues with the limited functionality of running with a V8 64 bit client against a V7 32 bit database. Has anyone found a good way to do this? Have considered dual booting my PC, but I hope there is a more intellegent way to handle this...
