I have a UCX50 installation which uses all Norstar legacy telephones, using a PRI connection. One of the employees is interested in working from home. What is required to implement this? And is there any recommendation for the name/model # of a phone to be placed at the remote location?

I'd recommend a Nortel Unistim set, which is very secure.

I have 11xx, 12xx and i2xxx sets currently operating remotely on my system. I have a 1165e, 1220, 1120e, 1140e, i2002, and i2004 remotely on my system.

You need to open up the appropriate ports on your firewall to allow the signal from the remote phone to be able to get back into the UCx. Attention Emtsupport, which ports?

Then it's simply setting the S1 address of the IP Phone to the external IP address of the ISP supplying internet to your site.

A Static IP address is recommended on the UCx end.

You could also have the user connect via VPN if you don't want ports open. Granted they may not want to deal with a HW VPN so that may limit them to a soft phone over the VPN.
