UCM Upgrade 2

Hi, All
A. Verifying when upgrading a UCM from Rls 9.0 are the steps upgrade:
Auto Upgrade:Rls 9.0 to Rls 10.0 to Rls 11.O.4.4 and last Rls 11.1

Alternately

B. New install of Rls 11.1 , copy WinSCP files Accounts,Greetings,Names and Wavs

C.Which one A or B ? Thanks.

Option C.

Get rid of the UCM and install an Aplication server on a VM-Ware server.

Thanks for the reply Okkie26, however client is hesitating on new purchases due to covid.

Would you recommend a new install of Rls 11.1 , copy WinSCP files Accounts,Greetings,Names and Wavs?

I think you could probably save all the greetings and such and give the straight to R11.1 a shot. Worst case you would have to reload R9 and do the upgrade dance if it didn't work. An R9 MDB will work on an R11.1 VMP and all the greeting files are already in the app server formats.

Back story of that, depending on the exact R11.1 the Avaya upgrade process doesn't work going from R11.0 to 11.1. I wrote some FAQs you may find helpful. They don't relate to exactly what you are doing but it may give some tricks to make it go easier.

You don't need a new purchese.

Just let the UCm sit in the IPO to enable the preffered license. And install the Applaction server on the customers VM-Ware.
