Hello guys

recently we lost a CP_DC card due a hardware failure, so no more linux base and no more UCM, I am pretty happy with this crap down (just kidding).

I have access to CP_PM by a serial port but i am unable to logging into the CS1K. Neither or mine know password that used to use works. I have only access to pdt by default password.

Anyone of you know how to reset the admin2 in order login back. I mean is an scenario like unregister Callserver, and I really need it when i recover the Linux base and rejoin Cs1K and UCM.

Cause: The original password was lost and now need to reset it for admin.

The solution has been sent to the partner as action plan.

Use the following procedures for logging on to the local logon page with an emergency account (nortel or root which are set during installation).

Attached document can be used, in case Nortel (until rel 7.00Q) / admin2 (Rel 7.50Q) credentials are also expired (or lost).

He said his UCM was down. Resetting the UCM password for him is not an option. There is a procedure on resetting the admin2 password if you have the Installation Media. I fill try and find out what that is. Is your CS1000 Call Server running VxWorks or Linux?

Unable to log into the call server or pdt using admin login.
Problem Clarification

Cannot log into call server or pdt using admin login when part of a security domain.
Cause

The cause is unknown.
Solution

The only solution available is to reset the password using "resetPWD" command.

The procedure to reset the password:-

==============================

Refer to NN43001-604 (Security Management fundamentals)

Enter pdt by using the login name of resetPWD and reset the password

Log on to the Call Server CLI using an account that has PDT privilege.
Access the PDT prompt by holding down the ctrl key, and typing pdt. The PDT prompt appears.
Instead of entering a user name, enter resetPWD.

The Password Reset Mechanism is initiated, and the following message appears:

PDT login on /tyCo/0

Username: resetPWD

************************************************

WARNING: All attempts to use the Password Reset Mechanism are logged. In order to proceed, you will need physical access to the Call Server.

************************************************

If you do not wish to proceed, enter the word QUIT,

otherwise

Enter the PWD2/Admin2 userID:

SEC026 Password override mechanism was used to gain access to the switch

4. Enter either:

QUIT to exit without resetting any passwords,

OR

<user name>.

If the user name you enter exists on the system, it is the target of the password reset. If the user name you enter does not exist on the system, a new PWD2 level account is created.

5. When prompted, insert the install media in the disk drive or PC Card slot. You must complete this step within 60 seconds, or the Password Reset Mechanism cancels.

6. Press Enter.

7. Enter the new PWD2 password.

8. Re-enter the new PWD2 password.

9. To exit PDT mode, type exit, and press Enter twice.

10. Remove the install media from the drive.

The system changes the password for the account (or creates a new account and assigns it the new password) and locks out all other accounts. The system marks the new password as expired, so the user must change it on their next log on. If the account is locked because the user exceeded the Failed Log in Threshold, the system unlocks it. These changes are distributed the next time an EDD takes place, usually within 24 hours.
