How far back can I go to retrieve data in UCCX? Is it dependent on disk space or is the db preconfigured to purge records at a certain point?

There is a limit on the database size for HR. It should be configured to purge on set intervals for optimal performance (best practice). Otherwise it will fill up and start purging on its own I believe (not recommended).
If it is required to be able to go back more than the database can handle, a dedicated HR server should be installed.
