How does it tie the two together, If I do a full sync without either number in a PRG it imports 2 accounts, If I then create a PRG and do a Dynamic extension sync it picks up the PRG but I cant get one account with both softphone and deskphone without manually creating it.
AD sync is fine
I think you have answered your own question.
Use AD to sync or create a PRG manually
looks like MiXML does not support a single account with 2 extn numbers
How have you set the names for the devices in the MCD , If i remember rightly , if the name for Deskphone and softphone is identical , the Pabx sync does tie them together
I have just done it on a UCA 4.1 System where the Deskphone was ext 431 with name User Test.
I added a new Mitel ext 432 with name User Test - device type app server port . did a pabx sync on the UCA server and they are now grouped together.
I also added a second Softphone with a lower extension number using the same method.
As long as the softphone is an app server port and the names are the same , they join up.
NOTE this wont work if the softphone extension is already in the UCA Database - if the ext for the softphone already exists in the UCA - deleted before doing the SYnc
We just went through this. You have to have exactly the same name for both plus you must assign a location to both but the location names need to be different. So for example you need to program the desk and softphone both with the name Ben Dover in the MCD ( and they need to be exactly the same ) and the location for the desk could be "sales 3rd floor". The softphone could be "UCA sales". One other note the location needs to start with letters. When we used "3rd floor sales" it failed to pull both over during the sync. Another non documented feature.
I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
