I've got the UCA Client working to the point that we can see the voicemails in the users mailbox. The play options do not work however.

The manual says that the FCOS options for nupoint that need to be enabled are 289, 290 and 295.

These have been enabled.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

just out of interest, have you got any 5330's or 5340's on site which support visual voicemail?

Suggest trying it on here first?

Not sure if you need it on UCA, but for on the phones you need to configure the external visual voicemail form on the 3300 which was introduced in MCD 4.1

Also, are the client machine able to resolve the host name of the Nupoint system? if not then that will prevent playing

Nornally in UCA you get 2 options, either play localy on PC or request a call back where it directs to call your extension. Which are you trying? if the second you need to set up the outbound dialer. If the first it uses the default media player on PC

hope that helps

External Visual VM on 3300 - Not set up - I did not know of this form.
FQDN - Yes - but not used in client setup, should it have been?
Outbound Dialer Set Up - Can Dial out using Outlook
Play thru PC - Nothing happens - Default Media Player OK

Yes FQDN Must be used or fuctions such as playing messages won;t work

What version of UCA are you running? Latest versions won;t even let you put in an IP address rather than FQDN when running the client installer

Try reinstalling client using FQDN. You can add it to the hosts file if your DNS isn;t set up. Let me know and i'll talk you through it

It's been added to the DNS.

Version is 3.2 running on MAS 9.1.32

I'll modify the Client, I don't think reinstalling is necessary.

I probably won't get back to site until Wed.

Sorry to have taken so long to update this issue.

The issue appears to originate with the software itself.

The URL that is being provided to the PC to play the message has the wrong domain name. The system is programmed correctly but something is wrong with the certificates.

I am currently working thru this with Mitel. No resolution so far.

So Mitel finally came up with a way to reset the FQDN that is delivered to UCA.

It was a root command to update the TUGDB.

Everything is fine now.
