UCA 3.1 Call control on Multicall keys, is it possible??

I have a customer running UCA 3.1, MCD 4.1 and 53xx handsets. A couple of users on site take external calls on a multicall key and whilst this is working fine..they get no call control from UCA when a call rings anything other than the prime line on the 53xx set. I'm sure that this is just 'how it is', but thought I'd throw the question out there anyway...
