In a UC560, how to I set the system to answer so the caller calling in only hears 1 ring? Is that even possible?

Just for clarification, I'm assuming you're referring to external callers calling your system correct?

What type of phone lines are attached to the UC560? Are they Analog, ISDN, PRI, or VoIP (SIP)?

With Analog lines, Caller ID information is not transferred until after the first ring. This is the reason why almost every system with analog lines are configured to answer after 2 rings.

If you don't have Caller ID information (or don't use it), you can set the system to answer after 1 ring.

You can change this under CCA by going to Telephony > Ports and Trunks > PSTN Trunks > (Selecting an FXO Port) > Edit Settings > Timers > Number of Rings for Caller ID Alerting

ISDN, PRI and VoIP trunks don't have this requirement. In fact, they can answer the call immediately (even before the calling phone has a chance to ring).

Yes you are correct - external callers calling in. The lines attached are analog. I thought changing the number of rings would affect caller ID. Thank you for the response, much appreciated.

Just to add a few details

The port is set to pickup after 1 ring however, the caller hears 2 - 2.5 rings. The customer wants the caller to hear only 1. My only other thought is they go to an auto attendant in which case the caller hears 1 ring then a menu. How it is currently configured is the number goes to a blast group, 1st call is picked up after 2 rings, when the 2nd call comes in and goes to the 2nd member, that's when the caller experiences 2.5 to 3 rings before the call is picked up.

The requirement is fulfilled but the customer is not satisfied.
