I'm sure this will fix the issue - we've run into problems with a certain vintage of Kingston 32GB SSD that have almost all failed (12+) so it looks like there's a bit of a learning curve with these solid state drives.
A 14 day return time (just like dongles) is a bit short i think.
You need to order the UCM and needs to be delivered.
Then you need to install it at the customer and then return it.
Not every customer is able to do this that fast.
But it is better then nothing.
tlpeter,
Usually you can ask for an extension due to extenuating circumstances. We've gotten an extra 10 days before, they were cool with it. They put that 14 days in there to keep people in line.
I know
We only have 3 in the field, one in my car and one in own system.
So i could request two already and get them in house and then replace one by one.
I would not be happy if we had installed dozens of them.
So this big question is: Is Avaya going to compensate us for the labour involved in replacing the roughly one dozen failed UC modules we have already replaced, and now to go and re-replace them again with the new blue label units?
Second big question: Are these new blue label units going to be shipped with 8.1 software so we don't have to spend an hour upgrading them from 8.0 as the beige label units are still being shipped with?
Good question on the labour. I would say *no*. We have had this come up with a install in progress. BP did not realise that the UCM was on hold, but ordered anyways, and it did not come to use for staging. We are forced to use embedded for the time being and when the new UCM is available, someone has to eat the cost of the labour to install it.
There are going to be shipped with 8.0.10-3 (in the doc mentioned)
They are not going to compensate the labour.
I think you are lucky that they admit this problem and replace it for free
As a workaround for this issue I have put the voicemail on a pc and left the dead UC in the system for the Virtual Preferred license. That at least gives you some time to get the new module in and installed. Only problem is you have to manually load in the greetings/callflows and such since the UC backup wont load directly into the PC version (At least not the windows one).
Not sure what happens if you remove the module and reboot the IPO. Might lose the virtual license.
Ugh! Received one of the new "blue sticker" PCS03 from an RMA earlier this week. Brought it up testing good Voicemail Pro tested AA, mailboxes, and One-X. Decided to to a re-image per the video. Everything going as the video says, 10 minutes into the load, the lights stop alternating. SSA showed loss of power to slot 4 and UCM Heartbeat failure. Re-downloaded the ISO and USB initiator, re-installed and tried again, same crap!
