I am attempting to setup UC Advanced 3.2 blackberry client. I am having trouble getting the Blackberry client to connect to the UCA server. I have setup a 1 to 1 nat through the firewall. I can use my PC and get to the web interface for UCA from anywhere on the public internet. I can use my android phone and get to the UCA web interface via the web on the android phone. But when I attempt to connect to the web interface or use the client to verify the connection it does not connect. We are using a blackberry professional server and I beleive it has something to do with the settings on that. Has anyone got this to work correctly. I could use any help I can get. I have spoken with Mitel Tech Support and they claim it is an issue with the blackberry and that I need to contact rim. I figured if Mitel wrote the software then they should know what settings the blackberry would require in order for it to work correctly.

We have it running without an issue, we had the BES before UCA, I didn't do anything with our IT guy that manages the BES either. The UCA is only an internal FQDN, you cannot get to it from the internet and the app works great. I was having issues originally when my password had a capital letter in it, I changed my password to all lower case, entered the server hostname without just server-name.internal.domain-name.com and left use secure connection unchecked. All has worked fine since except the steel roof on this building kills the GPS functionality.

DJONES92:

q1: Are you running BES (I think that's what you mean)?

q2: In your UCA BB app, go >> SETTINGS >> OPTIONS >> tell me what's in your "Sever IP" field.

Thanks for the help but I was able to get it working. I have the local side and the BB app working. It was 2 separate issues. I had to get the DNS corrected on both the inside network and the outside network. Our ISP had the A record pointing to the wrong IP address and internally I had to setup a Split DNS to get the inside FQDN to see the correct inside address. After getting all that corrected it was just a matter of getting the UCA server to sync the users from the 3300. All is well and working.

Remember, when working with BES, whatever is LOCAL to your BES is LOCAL to your BB.
