I have just upgraded from UC2 to UC 3... whew
My new server is a Vmware machine with dual core cpu and 4G ram allocated to it.
I have configured the server and synchronised with the pabx 3300 Cx1 Running 4.0SP1 (10.0.1.21)
I have loaded 2 clients one on Windows7 64bit and one on XP Sp3 - both clients had dotnet 3.5 installed before loading the client.
I can use the client to make calls , but cannot answer or hangup using the client?
There is also no prescense - ie if one of the exts goes offhook , I cannot see its status on the UC?

Is there anywhere where I can see what is happening , the event viewer isnt proving to be much help

Good luck with this, I've had various issues with UC 3 (users all going offline after 30 seconds and individuals not being to make calls throught the client)

Support is fairly limited for this product at the moment. If I find anything I'll let you know.

When you put in the 3300 during UC install, did you use the IP or DNS name? It has to be the DNS name.

have you assigned the appropriate license for users?

Knowledge is power, thats why we share!

Yes licenses were applied
- it turned out to be a naming issue
There are some log files created on the client
C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Mitel\UC ( on win7)
in the ucc log I had errors relating to the naming of my server.
I then reran the config from the Console window and named the server appropriately with domain.local as the domain and all my problems dissapeared.

Now have UC up with prescense displayed properly

Had the same issue on a new install. The solution was that you had to use a FQDN rather then the IP address of the UCA server. Try altering the host file on the PC with the client.
