Ubiquiti Airrouter adding a Unifi ap

Have a small site with a stand alone Ubiquiti AirRouter hp, Looking to add a Unifi AP to increase coverage.
Has anyone used/using an AirRouter with the Unifi AP, What I want is the seamless roaming and handover. They both run AirOS so sounds like they should work with each other?
