U S Robotics modem

When dialing and trying to access the net I get the following message "The modem failed to respond. Make sure that it is properly installed. and turned on. If it is an internal modem or is connected, verify that the interupt for the port is properly set" It is an internal modem model #5699B.

if the drivers are installed properly and you have rebooted a few times to no avail, its dead. dig a grave.

Before you start digging...

Win95/98/ME: My computer, Dial-up Networking.

Right click on your connection and select "Properties".

Where it says "Connect Using," make sure the correct modem is selected.

I've seen a lot of customers that have had more than one modem listed in there (previous modems/drivers) and just had the wrong one selected.
