Hello,

I'm the 'new IT guy' - the old one was removed swiftly. I don't have any info from him.

We have 1 main & 2 remote locations - all linked with Sonicwall VPN tunnels. I can access 2 of the 3 Sonicwall's - but the admin password for one of the remote sonicwalls is lost.

For reference - as far as I know, both remote sites have identical Sonicwall devices - which means it is a TZ180 standard device, running Sonic OS 3.8.0.1, with SonicROM 4.0.1.1

What are my options if I do not know the admin password?

I 'think' it is possiple to reset the device to factory AND still recover the config that was on it.

If someone can provide a 'step by step' guide or helpful websites, I would be grateful.

Regards

Paul Adams

There is a console port on it, but it does require a special cable. I have never actually used it but perhaps you could gain access that way. I believe you use hyper terminal and I'm not sure of the com port settings. Below is a link to the CLI commands, etc. Hopefully that helps.

Did you try the default Sonicwall user name and password?
