What is the difference between file picklist,report
picklist,catalog picklist in impromptu

Not a whole lot but.....
A catalog Picklist prompt will select and show all DISTINCT values from the column you select.
A Report Picklist prompt is created via an Impromptu report. It can group,sort,etc... just as a 'regular' report would do. This causes the actual .iwr report to be run, each-and-every time it is called for.
A file, or Hot-File picklist prompt, is created by running an .iwr report, then saving the report as an .IMS file.
These work quite well, but require re-creating the .IMS file periodically.
