That's the best I can do for a subject heading. I've read postings in this forum going back to last year and not found a specific answer.
I'm using AI 7.0 and have an HP Laserjet 1020.
I create some type, any font, and it appears nice and black on my monitor, but always prints as a kind of cross-hatched pattern - not a solid black. Especially noticeable at larger font size.
I *did* have this working at one point but I've done something and now can't reverse it. A TIFF image I imported prints a solid black, so it's not my toner cartridge.
I'm not a designer - I'm a Perl programmer - so I'd really appreciate some help with this. I'm almost at the point of re-installing Illustrator just to get the defaults back.
