I need help changing a type 500 mailbox.

It was setup by the local telco to call forward a DN that was associated with Option 2 on our Auto Attendant and is also used by our receptionist to transfer calls to our Call Centre.

I am having problems changing the call forward number. I can change the FDN number but not the CFW 16 number. I put in FTR CFW 16 but it won't take any digits after that number.

I need to change the CFW to 94164455555.

Thanks in advance.

It's only dialtone-VZ

it's been a while> at FTR XCFW return through then
reenter it again ( FTR CFW 16 9XXX-XXX-XXXX
or you could try (FTR DCFW 9xxx-xxx-xxxx)

It's only dialtone-VZ

I have tried the XCFW and then typing FTR CFW 16 then pressing space bar but the system takes that as a carriage return.

I haven't tried DCFW. What is the difference between the two?

I might be wrong, but I think you can only use the DCFW on a Phantom TN. DCFW is used to send a DN defined on a Phantom TN to a dialable extension. This is useful for call center reps with external numbers. We use it for dial 0 lines and COT trunks that do not need to have their own Key 0, but need to ring constantly regardless of the phone programming they appear on.

Hope this helps,

Scott M

You can only use DCFW on a phantom. Go to the TN an put a 500 set on it. Then press #1 and enter the number as you would dial it, 9XXXXXXXXXX.

Thanks Mluckie1. That worked like a charm. I put my trusty old analogue set on the TN, did as you suggested and it now works.

Are there other "#"'s that are used for type 500 sets?

way quicker and safer to use the maxp 1 acd, doesn't waste a lic/tn and does not lose forward after a power glitch. you can add rcfw with a scpw and do the same thing without having to go to the trouble of connecting a set.. i only use acd's for that unless the user needs to change the forward target, with remote call forward, the user dial #0 scpw dn target # and change the forward dn.. for an acd that is always going to mail

ncfw xxxx (to mail)

return about 47 times, ignore all other prompts and dial 1234, that call goes to the mailbox 1234.. takes about 4 seconds and requires 0 lic, tn's or ports

The ACD will work but you will need to change the NCOS of your DID's so that it can make the call. Don't forget to change the FDN to your new number.
