I have two Windows XP systems on my PC.
The first one is a Windows XP upgrade from Windows 98SE which had a lot of problems.
The second one is a full version of Windows XP which was installed from a cd sent by Microsoft Support.
The first one is on the C(?) drive and the second one is on a new partition created on D(?).
I am asked to select one of the systems everytime I turn on the PC.
Is there a way to delete the Windows XP upgrade version from my PC as it is redundant and never used?
Thank you for a quick response.

You should try to POST this in the WInXP forum not the Win98 forum. WinXP forum is here: forum779

In any case, removing the first XP will surely cause the Pc to stop booting as more than likely all the boot files from both O.S.es are located there. you can however edit boot.ini file to only have the one operating system you want to boot. and to boot from it immediately. Then you could probably delete the Windows folder from the C drive.

But again take this to the WinXP forum for more explicit advice.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

Settings/Control Panel/System

Click on Advanced tab
Click on Startup and Recovery
Under System Startup, you should see a dropdown box with your 2 OSs. Click on Edit...

I can't tell you anymore because I only have one OS and the Edit... button is disabled.
