how do u mean 2 way.. as in a satellite uplink with a duplex satellite segment, or what... ?... transferring IP information over DVB or some other coding style.. be a little more specific...
I live in a rural area and do not have access to dsl or cable internet access and am looking to find a faster alternative to dialup internet access. StarBand (
is offering a service that uses a single satellite dish antenna for receiving and for sending. I was just checking to see if anyone has had any first-hand experience / reviews of this service yet. Thanks.
well, i am not from Europe or North America... but the company i work for gets its Internet link from a provider in the USA that's connected to major providers such as UUNET and KPNQwest.... the company connects to this USA teleport over an assymetric satellite link....
satellite is ok, but the only catch is extra equipment involved, and the expensive satellite space segment to support the bandwidth u need... i don't know what kind of capacity you are looking for, but u could walk off with an assymetric 64Kbps/128Kbps satellite space segment from within $4,000 and $5,000, depending on the uplink satellite provider..... u may wanna get connected to a company that will provide you with a quote including space segment and Internet bandwidth from the teleport... it's cheaper that way...
sdorry i have not been on the Forum for some time... But i am using Starband 2 Way ISP with Windows 98, Windows 98 ME, and Windows 2000(updated to MS-XP) and having pretty good experience with it.
