I have two users on an sbs, who would like to be able to use the same email account and share one task bar and have one inbox but have the outgoing emails going out in their own names and the incoming emails marked for whoever sent the original email. I have set up user accounts for each of them with corresponding email accounts, user1@company.com and user2@company.com, and set up one joint user account with a corresponding email account, joint@company.com. However, the task bar in joint@company.com doesn't bring up reminders in the individual email accounts, and I can't get the emails from the joint account to come back marked in the way the users want. Is there any way any of this can actually be done.

you need to log on a machine with the 'shared' mailboxes' credentials and share out the entire mailbox to these two users.

then under the two users you can add this shared mailbox as their second mailbox. Both users will have full functionality of their own mailboxes and have full Shared functionality to the 'shared' mailbox.
