I'm bringing up a second windows 2000 server running terminal services in application mode. The original terminal server is also the licensing server. Is it a given that my new terminal server will communicate with the existing licensing server for licenses, or do I have to do something special on the new server to point to the licensing server? Both servers are in the same domain but different subnets.

Thanks,
Jeremy

You should not have to do anything. It should detect the TS License Server on it's own.

However if you do come across an issue you can set the Default License Server in the registry on your new TS server.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermService\Parameters

Value Name: DefaultLicenseServer
Type: REG_SZ
Value Data: TSservername
