I have a simple question to a complex structure. What is the best way to setup this example? I have 10 employees identified by their employee number in one table called "employees". In another table I have 15 courses that they have to take (test 1, test 2, test 3, etc.). I want a form (frmTests)that will show their score for each test.

Have a look to linked subform

Hope This Helps, PH.

airbus2,

Be sure to post back with your progress on this item. Let us know if you are able to use the feature mentioned by PHV. I can tell you from first hand experience, that he can REALLY teach you a lot in Access if you're willing to learn. Just make sure to update the thread to make sure he knows, and others know whether the response did help you carry out your intended purpose.

So, what would be the better way to go? 1) Creeat a table called "Tests" and have each individual test be identified as a "field" with the controling ID being the Employee Number. Or 2) that same tables "fields" represent specifics about each teat (score, passed, time, etc), and the actual test (test 1, test 2, etc.) be represented as a record. In the second example, how would I go about linking it as a subform, so each employees individual information in regards to a specific test shows up.

I would not use a table with fields like Test1, Test2,... This is not normalized. You haven't provided you current structure or any relationships between employees, courses, tests, and test results.
