Hi all,

I don't know if this is the right place to be posting this but i have a small problem. Basically i'm trying to run 2 secure web sites on one Server located in London, one using IIS and one using Tomcat.

The Tomcat one is already running on the default port 443 and is accessable fine from the web. I've set IIS to run on port 444 for SSL but i'm having problems seeing it from the web. My offices are based in Leeds, so its probably down to my firewall here in Leeds.

My question is... Does anyone know of any better way of doeing this.... They both have to be on the same server and one has to be IIS and the other Tomcat...

Help Please.....!!!

This should not be a problem, if you have different IPs bound to IIS and Tomcat, then they could both run on port 443.

That would be even better...
I have two public IPs for the server but only 1 private IP... Will i need 2 privite IPs??

You may want three private IPs for simplicities sake, but two will work.

I am assuming you currently have one public IP natted to one private IP.

This is what I would do, others may have better ways.

I would take private IP #1 and use it for the primary IP for the server.

I would take private IP# 2, bind it to the NIC as a seconday IP, and use it for web site/web server #1, and NAT public IP # 1 to private IP#2.

I would take private IP# 3, bind it to the NIC as a seconday IP, and use it for web site/web server #2, and NAT public IP # 2 to private IP#3.

This way you have seperate IPs for each of your public web sites, and it will make troubleshooting much easier as well. No port forwarding tricks needed :)

Good Luck
