guys,

I have a laptop that goes to two different sites, one uses a fixed proxy server and the other auto detects it, it is grabbing a DHCP server allocated address and going from there,

when I am on the site with the proxy server, it will work fine, obviously it doesnt need to look any further than its settings to find its connection to the internet.

if i also tick "automatically detect settings" in tools > internet options > connection settings > lan, it searches for the proxy server and depending on its location will work (on site) and wont (off site) can i somehow configure a script so it will try to "autodetect" first then if it cant autodetect, it will use the proxy server?

any info would be greatly appreciated,

thanks very much for your time,

luke

that would depend on the type of connections and OS. so, are they both LAN connections and what OS do you have?
