Hi All-

What is the benefit of selecting 'Do Not Copy CDX/TDX files'?

I assume I am currently copying CDX/TDX files into my dated subs. I wouldn't mind stopping this if it has no real benefit because it would improve the speed of my remote back-ups.

Also one of my sites is listing items alphabetically, none of the other sites are and I can't find the toggle to switch it back to listing by item #!

Thanks as always!

I don't think there is a benefit or disadvantage to checking that box. It most likely will speed up your backups a bit.
Go under Utilities--Preferences--and set your sorting there.

The CDX/TDX file is the index for the dbf file. Unlike SQL database, flat file databases like dBaseIV use a seperate file for the index. This makes finding items in the dbf file faster when running in production. There is no need to back them up since they are recreated by the grind.exe if needed.
