two servers both act as master domain name server

I am going to transfer the domain name server from one machine to another.

For a temporary time, I would run both machine as master name server. I know I would have to modify both machines for the new data.

I would drop the old machine in 1 or 2 weeks after the other services on that machine is transferred.

In theory, there should be no problem to run two name servers both as master. Right? It doesn't have to be one as master, one as slave. Right?

That should be fine. Understand that there will be no zone transfers between servers so you will need to keep records updated manually on both.
