Two server and losing connection to SQL Server

Hello,

before few days we separate our SQL server from Web server (ASP pages) and now we have two computers. Problem is that often when we try to pick-up data from DB we get error that server can not be recognized or connection is open or something similar. We do not know what is a problem but this is very annoying because we split them for better performances and now it doesn't work ok.

Btw. servers are connected over crossover cable and also over switch. In connection strings we use server name and not IP address.

Did anybody has similar problem ?
