What do I need to make two screens act like one,ie tutorials (P.D.F) on one screen, and the application (C.A.D.) on the other from a single P.C. Thanks in advance
 
You'll need a video card that supports 2 screens for starters, and then just set it up using the video card's drivers.

No 3rd party software or anything like that is needed.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.
 
If you are using XP it is easy, when you go to properties for video you will see how a drop down will give you the choice to use the 2 monitors (as long as XP sees the 2 monitors attached and you have the video card that will support this)
