I have a couple 2003 servers that don't keep the settings I set in Local Security Policy. These are standalone servers, not members of domains or AD.
The first setting is "Security Options/Network Access: Sharing and security model for local accounts". I set it for Classic, do gpupdate /force, but some unknown time later, it reverts back to Guest...
The second setting "Allow log on through Terminal Services" to add Power Users. We use Novell's DLU to manage accounts, and even though the users are members of Remote Desktop Users, for some reason they aren't allowed access unless I add Power Users to this group. Same as the other setting though, it reverts back on occasion.
I've been looking for something free that I can use to monitor these keys and notify me by email or even snmp when they change, but I haven't found anything yet. Anyone know of a tool that can do that?
Anyone seen these settings change like this?
Thanks,
James
