first up, win2k, a default win2k server install running iis5.0, are there any know epxloits? second of all, is a hardened linux kernel more secure than openbsd?

metrix007 -

A default install of Windows is wide open. You'll have to immediately install the latest service pack, and then install the latest security hotfixes.

Couldn't really say about which is better. Both are better than Windows, of course.

iis secure? heck no...

Gartner, Burton, and just about every other firm & security professional is telling their clients to get off IIS for their webservices...

For more info, go to and look for IIS :)

linux vs. *BSD
each has its strengths, and weaknesses... I have not seen anything in either that couldnt be overcome by a compotent sysadmin :) ---
