Kindly guide me how to control following MS Word Problems:-

1. I want to know how i can make MS word 2000 to repeated the words that are type again and again like lets say that i am have a document in which i have to write "Official Assignee" and "High COurt" most of the times.. i want that when ever typing in word i type "Offi" Ms words write the complete word "Official Assignee"

Is there any vb code for this or any other way.

2. The second is this when ever i press "Ctrl+S" to save the document MS word does not save the document instead some kind of Vb Message appears saying :-"Compile Error , Syntax error
this is the same error which comes when i open my MS word 2000 , i have tried removing the old one and installing it again but no use.

Hello nasirmirza,
I will be able to answer the first question, but not the second.

If I read your question correctly you are wanting Word to Autofill an entire word after you have typed just a few characters. If this is correct try one of the following:

1. AutoCorrect
- Word will automatically autocorrect any word or spelling mistake you have created. To see this in action try typing "teh" (without the quotes) then tap the spacebar or hit enter. Notice that Word automatically corrects the spelling mistake.
- To modify or add to AutoCorrect
i) "Tools" select "AutoCorrect"
ii) Lower half of the dialog box type the misspelled word or abbreviation you want corrected. For example "oa" then in the other field type the full correct word - "Official Assignee"
iii) Make sure to click on "Add" to add the word to your AutoCorrect
iv) Click "OK"
Note: AutoCorrect is shared among Word, Excel, Powerpoint so any additions you make in one Program will be available in the others

2. AutoText
- If you have every begun typing a word and noticed a yellow "tool-tip" type box appear above the word, that is an example of "AutoText". For example if you type "Nove" (without the quotes) you should see a litte yellow box appear above what you are typing containig "November" if that is what you want all you have to do is hit "Enter" and Word will complete the AutoText.
- Whereas AutoCorrect is good for single words or short sentences of 3-5 words. AutoText can be used for entire sentences and/or paragraphs of text
- To add to AutoText
i) Type or select the text you want to add to AutoCorrect
ii) "Insert" select "AutoText" then "New"
iii) Type a word you would like to use as the prompt for the Autotext
iv) click "OK"

Hope this helps,
